The Summit 54 Is the Performance Yacht That’s Built Like a Bluewater Cruiser

  • Full-beam amidships master suite
  • 21-knot cruising speed, with a top speed of 25 knots
  • Generous interior volume optimizes comfort
  • Properly sized engine room simplifies maintenance
  • Wide side decks and high bulwarks ensure safe movement
  • 360-degree sightlines from helm stations
  • Spacious sunpads welcome relaxation

This timeless design combines the craftsmanship and attention to interior comfort for which our sister brand, Kadey-Krogen Yachts is known, with a planing hull designed by Michael Peters Yacht Design. The Summit Motoryachts 54 brings to the dock a new perspective on lasting comfort and sophistication.

The helm deck continues the theme of 360-degree views providing exceptional sightlines from the dual helm seat and electronics console, as well as an expansive dining experience around the handcrafted high-low table. The helm is made of fine walnut with plenty of room for your signature suite of electronics, accompanied by a stunning suede-and-stainless-steel wheel. A door to starboard offers quick access to the side deck.

The main deck is one seamless space, with an aft deck covered by a large overhang of the flybridge. The aft bulkhead window and door combine to open wide giving the aft galley a true indoor-outdoor feel, plus ease of serving both the aft deck and the indoor dining area. We designed the galley to suit any mood or moment. A breakfast nook and settee to starboard with a handcrafted, collapsing teak table, is just the right spot to lounge and keep the chef company.

The master suite is located at the widest section of the yacht, and is nearly 15 feet wide. For a comfortable night’s sleep, there is a walk-around queen-size berth. His-and-hers wardrobe lockers and drawers provide plenty of storage. A VIP is in the bow, and a third stateroom can do double duty as an office.

Summit 54 Design & Engineering

A planing hull is the most efficient way to go faster on the water: Once it reaches a certain speed, the hull hops up out of the water and rides on the surface. The experienced boatbuilders at Kadey-Krogen Yachts have looked at all aspects of performance cruising and worked with Michael Peters Yacht Design to create a new brand that exceeds expectations, and that includes more choices down to the most fundamental levels. While the initial Summit 54 Motoryachts have been equipped with conventional shaft propulsion, we are also ready to incorporate Volvo Penta IPS into future builds. Because the hull is on the surface of the water, less of the hull actually touches the water, so there’s less friction to overcome with horsepower and fuel burn.

It’s this combination of speed and efficiency that inspired the team at Summit Motoryachts to design a planing hull for a cruising yacht. While performance is a key factor in these yachts, it’s not the only consideration: We knew our buyers would expect a certain level of robust construction, smart use of interior space with plenty of stowage, a fine interior finish, and plenty of proven equipment.
