The misconception that express cruisers are simply meant for day hops or maybe a long weekend is immediately shut down when you consider the attributes of the Summit 54 Coupe. First of all, it would be impossible for Kadey-Krogen to create a yacht that isn’t maximized for cruising in comfort. It’s simply not in our DNA. Combine this with bulletproof construction and an efficient hull design that will achieve a top speed of 28 knots and you have a winning combination.
The main deck on the 54 Coupe is focused on connecting the outdoor space and the luxuriously appointed interior. The galley is ideally positioned in the after section, joining the cockpit, galley, and saloon area. The result is a new yacht featuring the best of an express and motoryacht.
The 54 Coupe’s accommodations are designed to maximize liveability with three staterooms, two heads, and plenty of stowage to provision for a season of exploring. The owner’s suite is located at the widest section of the yacht, and is nearly 15 feet wide. It features a walkaround queen berth and a hullside window above the headboard, with flanking night tables and stowage including hanging lockers.
The VIP stateroom is tough to distinguish from the owner’s cabin. Situated in the forward section with an en suite head, streams of natural light and air, guests might be slow to depart. The starboard guest stateroom can be specified as an office and is open to the passageway creating a suite-like feel with the staterooms.

A planing hull is designed to combine speed and efficiency. Once the hull reaches a certain speed, the hull planes, riding on the surface. Because less of the hull touches the water, there’s less friction to overcome with horsepower and fuel burn.
While performance is a key factor in these yachts, it’s not the only consideration: We knew our buyers would expect a certain level of robust construction, smart use of interior space with plenty of stowage, a fine interior finish, and plenty of proven equipment.
