Performance on a cruising yacht manifests itself in many ways, not least of which in the comfort of those aboard. After all, voyaging on a yacht should bring out the best in people, open their mind to travel, and help them enjoy nature and connect with each other on board. Just one example, we place the owner’s stateroom amidships to provide the most comfortable onboard experience for the berth used most often. To maximize performance for the duration of a cruise, comfort is key. We pay close attention to sound and vibration attenuation. The design makes the most of hull volume for living space and stowage while still running and handling the way we want. Perhaps most importantly, our owners and crew know they are safe in our robustly constructed hull and surrounded by equipment that is proven reliable with extensive service time at sea. When we say performance, we are focused on the yacht’s performance, but it goes beyond just fuel burn and speed over ground. It’s how the yacht performs in every way that matters to us. If the owner and guests enjoy their time aboard, and get rested and feel relaxed, they’re able to maximize the effect of the days at sea. That’s real performance in a cruising yacht.
There are several design elements that attract the eye in the owner’s suite. Located amidships, the suite is nearly 15 feet wide and features a walk-around queen berth situated with the head of the berth to starboard. The space is replete with stowage, with drawers and his-and-hers wardrobe lockers. The suite has a desk/dressing table and is fitted with LED overhead lighting as well as lamps and indirect lighting. The suite is equipped with a television, and owners can choose coordinating soft goods from available design packages.
The owner’s head is situated to port at the foot of the queen berth. A hullside window provides natural light to a sink and vanity with ample stowage, with a large mirror above. There’s a spacious walk-in shower and a private head compartment.
The VIP stateroom is situated in the bow and welcomes guests with a walkaround queen berth surrounded by natural light from hullside windows. Opening ports to either side of the trunk cabin and an overhead hatch add natural ventilation as well. A hanging locker and plenty of stowage add to the comfort level, as do the TV, overhead lighting, and reading lights. Coordinating soft-goods packages are designed to fit the room and match the style of the yacht. The VIP stateroom offers en suite access to the guest head.
The guest head is finished to the level one should come to expect from Summit Motoryachts. A roomy shower, a vanity with basin-style sink and ample stowage for a long cruise will keep the guests content.
The third space on the accommodations deck of the Summit 54 layout is an office or stateroom. A desk allows for uninterrupted remote-work sessions that can help keep the owner on the water for longer stretches—it can make a big difference to have a dedicated space. Same goes for the additional berth space. Having more space makes it easy to be flexible and welcome additional guests aboard. And speaking of flexibility, having the option to continue the cruise and enjoy more time on the water is that much more enjoyable with the full laundry facilities here as well. The space is customizable if a dedicated office or stateroom configuration are desired.
